The laboratory has worked in partnership with QE Facilities to modernise and innovate the sample transport system to ensure that sample integrity is maintained and optimised:

  1. Optimised the routes so that no run is longer than 4 hours
  2. Introduced transport vehicle tracking
  3. Introduced sample bag tracking
  4. Introducing environmental monitoring with alerts
  5. Piloting the use of sample racks for transporting individual samples to reduce the use of plastics and paper.
